Shelli and Mark are award-winning Jewellers who specialize in saw-pierced sterling silver and gold, designing and making rings, necklaces, earrings and bracelets. They work in the third floor studio of their home in Hamilton, displaying at Ontario craft shows since 1974. From whimsical to classic, their work is known for its fine detail, creating a unique sense of movement in metal. Starting with original drawings on paper, through the stages of engraving designs onto sheet silver or gold, or carving in wax for lost wax casting, and then drilling, hand piercing, filing, engraving, shaping, soldering, and grinding and polishing, excellence in each process is their guiding principle. A number of their pieces feature stone inlays of turquoise, lapis lazuli, and mother of pearl, or are enhanced with coloured gems, including amethyst, garnet, peridot or diamonds. Stones are typically set in handmade bezels. They also welcome custom commissions, working together with clients in creating one-a-kind treasures.
