Love Bite Ceramics

Hi! My name is Amanda Hickey, owner and creator of Love Bite Ceramics.

My artistic practice focuses on incorporating a modern aesthetic into functional ceramic ware. I utilize traditional ceramic making techniques, (such as wheel throwing, hand building, and sgraffito and mishima carving) and put an unique and unexpected twist on this historically important craft.

I take inspiration from everywhere, including: art, architecture and textiles. I work mainly with the contrasting colours of black and white, and create linear forms to provide a canvas for my highly intricate, geometric surface decoration.

I create each piece with daily use in mind, so most of my work is also dishwasher and microwave safe. Bonus!
