At Pacalaca Alpaca Farm we love looking after our alpacas and that good care means excellent quality alpaca fibre. At our farm in southern Ontario, we have over 20 alpacas who enjoy grazing in the fields and coming running to the barn when it is feeding time, each expressing their many and varied personalities. Nanaimo is always the first to the feed, while Schroeder is a little more shy.

The alpacas are shorn in the spring when the weather becomes warmer and we turn that alpaca fibre into warm and comfortable clothing for people to enjoy. The fibre from alpacas is a wonderful natural product that keeps alpacas toasty warm in the winter. Using their renewable fibre to make articles of clothing means that people also get to share in the comfort, warmth and softness of alpaca fibre. It comes in 22 different natural colours, is six times warmer than sheep's wool and wicks moisture away from skin. It is hypoallergenic and most people who can't wear sheep's wool can wear alpaca clothing.

As we like to say: Everyone deserves alpaca socks! They feel like a hug for your feet.

We create numerous alpaca fibre products ourselves, but we also work with local knitters, artisans and mills so we have a diverse lineup of alpaca products to sell. Yarn forms the base of our products and we have it spun into skeins in natural colours, carefully mixing alpaca fibre of different colours or dying it to make different hues and shades that make beautiful garments. Our products include numerous types of socks, mittens, hats and headbands. We also have duvets, yarn, rovings, toys, scarves, shawls and cowls made from our alpaca fibre. We work with artisans to help create products such as our breathable and comfortable duvets.

At Pacalaca Farm we love the amazing soft, warm fibre that the alpacas share with us and we hope that you will too!
