Our story begins in 2004, Monique and I were looking for a suitable picnic table for our 4 and 6 year old sons. Having found nothing other than plastic ones, I bought a bench saw, a drill and got to work. After 30 years in the corporate world, it was in the fall of 2018 that I made the decision to work full time in my passion for woodworking. Having self-taugh myself, I now continue my passion of woodworking with my wife Monique and our oldest son Bruno. We now have a woodworking shop in our home basement. We make unique wood game boards for children and adults, cutting boards and butcher blocks for the kitchen.
The process - We start with wood from the mill that we plane, cut, glue and sand to create the final product. We source discarded material from flooring or door and windows casing companies. In addition, we use offcuts and repurpose them in our games, therefore rescuing pieces from the fire pit. We use food grade glue and mineral oil or linseed oil to protect and emphasize the beauty of natural wood.
Creating process - We look at books to find ancient games and bring them back to life. These make our game products offering different from other woodworkers. We create our own design for the CNC machine to engrave the games on our boards. All our boards are unique as we like to mix different species of wood on each board. The end result is beautiful, each board is one of a kind.
3D printed - Since we needed game pieces for some wood game boards, we self taught how to create these with a 3D printer. We now make not only game pieces, but we also design and create a few cool games and accessories with a 3D printer. All 3D printed products are our own original designs and creations printed in our workshop. No out sourcing of anykind.
