Red Thread is a line of children's and women's clothing designed and made in Toronto by Devorah Miller. It began in 2005 as a line of vibrant, long-lasting children's clothing, then expanded into women's clothing as well. I love playing with unusual and beautiful colour and print combinations, and designing clothing that's simple and functional. Some pieces are designed to layer beautifully so that they can be worn through different seasons, and others transition easily so they can be worn for years. All of the fabrics I use are high quality natural fibres, including cottons, linen, some organics and bamboo. Most of my repeat customers stick with me because my clothing is highly comfortable and functional, and because they love the way I play with prints and textures. I am also currently playing with one of my first loves, quilting and patchwork, to expand my line into special home goods such as quilts, pillows, and framed fabric art. The patchwork and other textiles are creative play for me, using scraps from my clothing design mixed with vintage textiles, creating one of a kind pieces for people to enjoy in their living spaces.
